Reinventing our
favourite foods

We love cheese. We love yoghurt. Ice cream too, and so many other animal based products that are fundamental to our culture and heritage. But using animals to produce these treats is extremely wasteful and destructive.

In early 2019 we, Sorosh Tavakoli and Anja Leissner, founded Stockeld Dreamery (formerly Noquo Foods) to challenge the status quo and reinvent the foods we love, starting with cheese.

Stockeld Dreamery is a company where doers dare to dream, but even more so – where dreamers dare to do. We have a strong conviction that tastier and more nutritious alternatives to our favourite foods can be developed, we just haven’t tried hard enough. Our first vision is to create the world's most ambitious cheese. In 2021 we are launching our very first product to give you a taste of what we've been dreaming of.

Stockeld Dreamery is head-quartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Ready to share with the world our new take on cheese.

Sorosh Tavakoli, CEO, previously founded, ran and eventually sold a software company, Videoplaza, with close to 100 employees across 8 offices.

Before starting Stockeld Dreamery, Sorosh spent two years exploring new business ideas where climate impact could be built into the business model. He deep-dived into the world of alternative proteins, micro algae and Duckweed, before deciding to go all in on creating the world’s most ambitious cheese together with Anja.

Sorosh was born in Iran, raised in Sweden, lived four years in London and two years in NYC before moving back to Stockholm in early 2017. He holds a Masters from the Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm School of Economics.


Anja Leissner, Head of R&D, has a background in biotechnology, food science, microbiology, sensory and nutrition. She specializes in dairy processing and technology having worked at Skånemejerier, AAK and Bush Boake Allen.

After immersing into the nascent world of plant based proteins, Anja emerged with the conviction that significantly better plant based products were possible. Meeting Sorosh she realised she is not only a nerd but also an entrepreneur. Together they decided to start Stockeld Dreamery with the purpose to crack one of the hardest challenges in the food industry - to make delicious and nutritious cheeses using only plants.

With a solid passion  for sustainability, nutrition and product development, she also acts as a mentor for other startups. Her deep interest in food combined with having the heart of a tiger makes her a force to be reckoned with in the mission of making great cheese.
